    Brightwaters is a thriving village in the southwest part of the town of Islip, in Suffolk County, on Long Island, New York. At the time of the 2010 census, Brightwaters had an approximate population of 3,103 residents. The total area of Brightwaters is one square miles and it’s located in the 11718 zip code.

    Business in the village of Brightwaters lines up along the intersection of Orinoco Drive and Windsor Avenue. There are three distinct districts in the village; the Lakes District, the Canal District, and the Wohseepee Park District. Children in the village attend schools in the Bay Shore Union Free School District as well as several private and parochial schools. Bay Shore Fire Department provides fire protection to the residents of Brightwaters. Recreational opportunities include Walker Beach, Wohseepee parks, Gilbert Park, and a variety of other parks throughout the village.
